Mills, the largest aerial work platform leasing company in Latin America, has established a Lead Acid to Lithium Conversion strategic cooperation with ENEROC

Recently, Mills, the largest aerial work platform leasing company in Latin America, visited ENEROC. Both parties agreed to carry out Lead Acid to Lithium Conversion upgrades on Brazil’s existing aerial work equipment, leveraging ENEROC’s mature Lithium Iron Phosphate power battery complete Solution to jointly promote the electrification and low-carbon transformation of the Latin American aerial rental industry.

Mills Equipment Leasing

As a leading leasing provider in the Brazilian aerial work platform rental industry, this leasing company owns a large fleet of aerial equipment, with operations covering major infrastructure, industrial, and logistics projects throughout Brazil. The company’s existing equipment fleet is largely equipped with conventional lead-acid batteries, which, under Brazil’s high-temperature and high-humidity conditions, face challenges including complex maintenance, water refilling, short cycle life, high replacement frequency, and long charging times. These issues continuously increase fleet operation and maintenance costs and limit the achievement of the company’s ESG green development goals. In response to the industry transformation wave, this leasing provider actively sought asset upgrade solutions. After multiple rounds of working condition validation and solution comparisons, it ultimately selected ENEROC as its core strategic cooperation partner for lithium battery retrofitting.

ENEROC

ENEROC is a leading domestic enterprise in lithium battery solutions for off-road construction machinery, focusing for many years on power batteries for Aerial Work Platforms. It possesses full capabilities in battery system R&D, intelligent manufacturing, and remote operation and maintenance. Its products fit mainstream high-altitude machinery models such as scissor and articulating booms. It has completed targeted optimizations for South American temperature, humidity, and heavy continuous operation environments, enabling direct in-situ replacement of Lead-acid Batteries without substantial modification to the original equipment, greatly reducing retrofit costs and construction time for existing equipment.

The complete solution is equipped with a self-developed BMS battery management system, supporting 4G remote cloud monitoring, real-time collection of battery voltage, temperature, and cycle data, enabling fault warning and full lifecycle digital management; Compared with Conventional Lead Acid, Lithium Iron Phosphate lithium batteries offer maintenance-free operation, fast charging capabilities, and a cycle life 3 to 4 times longer, effectively reducing Leasing Providers’ full lifecycle operation and maintenance costs, decreasing equipment downtime, and increasing asset rental returns.

Both parties have established strategic cooperation.

According to the strategic cooperation agreement, both parties will advance the phased Project Implementation of large-scale conversion from high-capacity Lead Acid to Lithium batteries. ENEROC is responsible for supplying customized lithium battery PACKs, accompanying charge and discharge equipment, technical standards, and a remote operation and maintenance platform, delivering comprehensive retrofit technical specifications; Brazilian partners are responsible for local equipment disassembly, assembly, on-site commissioning, and localized after-sales execution, jointly establishing a benchmark project for the 'Lead-acid to Lithium Battery' retrofit of aerial work equipment in Latin America. Beyond the retrofit of existing equipment, both parties will engage in long-term collaboration on new machine battery integration, battery after-market operation and maintenance, and battery second-life utilization, exploring new battery asset operation models suited to the Latin American leasing market.

We do not only provide battery hardware but also deliver a complete retrofit solution adapted to local working conditions, helping overseas rental customers optimize existing equipment assets to achieve both cost reduction and efficiency improvement as well as green low carbon dual benefits. In the future, we will continue to improve the local service system in Latin America and replicate China’s mature off-road electrification retrofit experience in more overseas markets.

Looking ahead

Currently, the global construction machinery rental industry is accelerating its transition to low carbon, with retrofit of existing equipment becoming a new growth driver. This strategic cooperation between ENEROC and a leading Brazilian aerial rental provider has established a pathway for implementing 'Chinese lithium battery technology + overseas local markets,' showcasing the strength of Chinese new energy enterprises abroad and injecting Chinese momentum into the green transition of construction machinery in Latin America.  In the future, both parties will also cooperate on oil-to-electric conversion projects based on the Lead Acid to Lithium Conversion partnership.
